eM Client

This guide will operate under the assumption that eM Client has already been installed on your system.

1.       On the main eM Client window, please click the following items in order:

A)     Click the ‘Menu’ button in the top left hand corner.

B)      On the menu that pops up, click the ‘Tools’ option.

C)      On the third menu that pops up, click the ‘Accounts’ option.

2.       A window named “New Account” will open up. Please click the following options.

A)     Click the “Mail” option, do not use automatic as we need to use specific configuration details.

B)      Click the “Other” option

       C)   Click the orange "Next" button

3.       A new screen on the “New Account” window shows up, follow the wizard as detailed below:

A)     Labeled as: 1 – Identity, please enter your email address here (i.e. “somebody@netbistro.com)

B)      Click the orange “Next” button.

POP3 Configuration Settings

4.       On the next screen, indicated as step 2, you will input the incoming server details, the next few steps are going to be the configuration details for a POP3 connection; you may skip this section and advance to the IMAP section (Page 9/Step 9) if you prefer IMAP email settings.

 A)     Click the circle/button next to the words “POP3” to fill in the circle next to it.

B)      In the box to the right of the words “Incoming Server:” click inside it once and enter “mail.abccomm.com” as the incoming server.

C)      In the box to the right of the words “User name:” please input your email address (i.e. someone@netbistro.com).

D)     In the box to the right of the word “Password:” enter your email password.

E)      Click the orange “Next” button.

5.      On the next screen, indicated as step 3, you will enter in the ‘outgoing’ server details.

A)     In the white box to the right of the words “Outgoing Server:” enter “smtp.abccomm.com”

B)      In the white box to the right of the words “User name:” enter in your email address.

C)      In the white box to the right of the word “Password:” enter in your email password.

D)     Leave the check mark box for “Outgoing server doesn’t require authentication” EMPTY.

E)      Click the orange “Next” button.

6.       Not much to do on this screen! It is now testing your configuration, if you mistyped something,  a Red X will appear under either SMTP or POP3, depending upon which one is having an issue being verified. If you get a green check mark and “Ok” under each section, you can click the “Next” button!

7.       A new screen will pop up labeled “Account Details”

A)     In the white box underneath the words “Your name:” enter in your First and Last Name (i.e. John Doe)

B)      In the white box underneath the words “Account name:” leave it as your email address for easy identification.

8.       The final screen! Almost done! In this screen all you must do is make sure the circle next to “Create separate folder tree for messages” is filled in and then you can click the orange “Finish” button!

Once you’ve hit the finish button, you will be sent back to the main eM Client screen, and it will start automatically receiving emails.

IMAP Connection Settiings

9.       This is for IMAP configuration settings; this takes place after step 3 on page 3.

A)     Click the circle/button next to the words “IMAP” to fill in the circle next to it.

B)      In the box to the right of the words “Incoming Server:” click inside it once and enter “imap.abccomm.com” as the incoming server.

C)      In the box to the right of the words “User name:” please input your email address (i.e. someone@netbistro.com).

D)     In the box to the right of the word “Password:” enter your email password.

E)      Click the orange “Next” button.

This is the only real difference between POP3 and IMAP configuration. At this point you can follow Steps 5 through to 8 and the setup will be complete.
