Mozilla Thunderbird

1.       In Thunderbird please click the button labeled “Email” (found underneath the grey bar labeled “Accounts” and it’s sub-section “Create a new account:”

2.       A window labeled “Welcome to Thunderbird” will pop up, at the bottom left of this window, click the button labeled “Skip this and use my existing email”. Do not use the “Would you like a new email address field.

3.       A new window will pop up labeled “Mail Account Setup”. Please perform the following steps:

A)     In the field labeled “Your name:” enter in your First name and Last name (i.e. “John Doe”)

B)      In the field labeled “Email address:” enter in your abc email address (i.e. “someone@netbistro.com”)

C)      In the field labeled “Password:” enter in the password for your email address.

D)     Please click the tick-box next to the words “Remember password” so you don’t have to re-enter your information each time you check your email.

E)      Click the button labeled “Continue” in the bottom right to proceed to the next step.

4.       When you click the next button in step 3, the window changes slightly, it will say “Configuration found at email provider”. At this point please click the “Manual config” button as indicated in the picture below.

For configuring with IMAP protocols, please continue to the next page, to configure for POP3 protocols, please move ahead to step 6.

IMAP CONFIGURATION

5.       After step 4, the screen will have changed to present you with multiple input fields to enter in your configuration details, please follow the steps below:

A)     If not already done so, click the box next to the word “Incoming:” (as indicated in the picture below) and choose IMAP from the drop down list.

B)      Next to the IMAP button, there is a white box under the words “Server hostname”, please enter “imap.abccomm.com” (without quotes) into this field.

C)      Under the first Server Hostname box, enter “smtp.abccomm.com”

D)     Under the word “Port”, enter 993 as the port number in the first box

E)      In the white box underneath the first “Port” box, enter 587 as the port number

F)      In the first drop down list under “SSL”, please select SSL/TLS

G)     In the second drop down list under “SSL” please select “STARTTLS”

H)     Under the first drop down list under the word “Authentication” please select “Normal Password”

I)        In the second drop down list under the word “Authentication” please select “Normal Password”

J)       In the field to the right of “Username:   Incoming:” (located near bottom left) enter in your email address if not already present.

K)      In the field to the right of “Outgoing” (located underneath the second “Authentication” field) please enter your email address if not already present.

L)       Press the “Re-test” button near the bottom right.

M)   Then click the “Done” button. Your email has now been configured!

6.       After step 4, the screen will have changed to present you with multiple input fields to enter in your configuration details, please follow the steps below:

A)     If not already done so, click the box next to the word “Incoming:” (as indicated in the picture below) and choose POP3 from the drop down list.

B)      Next to the POP3 button, there is a white box under the words “Server hostname”, please enter “mail.abccomm.com” (without quotes) into this field.

C)      Under the first Server Hostname box, enter “smtp.abccomm.com”

D)     Under the word “Port”, enter 110 as the port number in the first box

E)      In the white box underneath the first “Port” box, enter 587 as the port number

F)      In the first drop down list under “SSL”, please select None.

G)     In the second drop down list under “SSL” please select “STARTTLS”

H)     Under the first drop down list under the word “Authentication” please select “Normal Password”

I)        In the second drop down list under the word “Authentication” please select “Normal Password”

J)       In the field to the right of “Username:   Incoming:” (located near bottom left) enter in your email address if not already present.

K)      In the field to the right of “Outgoing” (located underneath the second “Authentication” field) please enter your email address if not already present.

L)       Press the “Re-test” button near the bottom right.

M)   Then click the “Done” button. Your email has now been configured!
